Blanketless Mei Tai

Or Convertible Mei Tai Baby Carriers

The Mei Tai has created a revolution, and now here's the next step in Mei Tai evolution, the blanketless Mei Tai by Nine Acres.

Nine Acres has taken the top off the traditional Mei Tai, literally! This Mei Tai can go "blanketless" making summer wearing cooler.

Like many traditional Mei Tai, the Nine Acres Blanketless Mei Tai has a wide strap that is tied around the wearer's waist, but instead of having a body that connects the pieces, the Blanketless Mei Tai brings the shoulder straps right down to the waist strap, crossing them to create a seat for baby. A removable back strap holds it all in place.

What we have created is a simple carrier that is worn like a Mei Tai, but in a slimmed down version. It's excellent for older babies that like to ride with their arms out and like the freedom of being able to look around.

The Blanketless Mei Tai also solves the problem for those babies who love to do the front-facing out position. The back strap is able to be removed, and now the carrier can be used on front with the baby in a facing out position.

The Blanketless Mei Tai has lightly padded leg rails, which not only gives baby a comfortable ride, but adds structure to the bottom of the carrier, creating a seat that properly supports baby's legs, reducing the stress on her developing spine.

Countless months were spent designing and testing this carrier so that it would hold baby facing out as naturally as possible. What we've found is a way to mimic the way your hands would support your baby's thighs when held in this position.

Use common sense when wearing your baby. Do not cook or operate machinery. Keep a hand on baby's head when bending, bend at the knees instead of the waist.
