![]() Front CarryTie the waist straps around your waist like an apron. The body and shoulder straps will hang down in front of you. Use a square knot to secure the carrier. (Hereafter you can assume "tie" means a square knot). Hold baby against your chest and bring the body of the carrier behind him, one leg on each side. Younger babies may prefer to keep their knees tucked up and legs inside the carrier. Bring the shoulder straps up over your shoulders, cross them behind your back and then bring them around to the front. At this point, the body of the carrier should be supporting your baby. Try to get your baby as high as possible. Now tie the straps in front. For a smaller/younger baby, tie a square knot in the middle of his back. For an older baby, bring the straps up under his legs and tie the knot below his bottom. |

Note: If your baby is getting lost in the fabric of the carrier, you can roll the waist straps to shorten it. You can also shorten the carrier for an older baby who may enjoy riding with his hands out over the top of the carrier. | ![]() |

Back CarryPlease have another adult available to help you get your baby on your back until you are confident and comfortable with the process. Tie the carrier like an apron, with the body of the carrier at your back. Sit down on a chair or bed and spread the carrier out behind you. |

Place baby on the body of the carrier, with one leg on each side. Gently lift the carrier straps and pull baby toward your back. Pull up on the shoulder straps; you may need to wiggle a bit to get baby down into the carrier. Keep the straps taut so that he is snug against your back. |

You may either bring the straps over your shoulders backpack style and then back under your baby for tying, or for a more secure carry, cross or twist the straps before bringing them back around to tie under baby's bottom. |
